“My folks taught me to work hard and help others. I try to live out their values through my work, my volunteering, and my public service.”

Matt is heavily involved in the community. He was a lead organizer of The Open Door food shelf and resource center in downtown Lakeville, and he previously volunteered at 360 Communities as a Spanish Interpreter and Family Support Worker. Matt has been a Lakeville Lion since 2009, earning the award of Lion of the Year for 2010.

Elected to the City Council in 2010, and to Mayor in 2012, Matt served on a variety of committees and boards including the Downtown Lakeville Business Association, Public Safety Committee, Municipal Legislative Coalition, and the Economic Development Commission. Matt was unopposed in his reelection bid for Mayor in 2014. Throughout his time as Mayor, Matt focused on: low taxes, public safety, job growth, and reducing long term debt.

After graduating law school, Matt worked at the law firm of Sieben Edmunds before opening his own firm this year, Little Law, in downtown Lakeville.

When he’s not working, Matt likes to spend time with his fiancé Coco, his family and friends. He enjoys running, reading, basketball, and fishing.
